EarthxHack is part of EarthX’s series of conferences, festivals, and events dedicated to educating and inspiring people and organizations to take action towards a more sustainable future worldwide. EarthxHack 2020 is a virtual space bringing together innovators of all ages to inspire creative ways to protect and preserve our planet for generations to come. We encourage you to come and join us in making new things and turning the world into a better place!

What can I expect?

Experiences
  • We'll have game servers set up, along with tournaments for you to play in
  • Discord will be set up to help you connect with your teammates and the community
  • We'll have live-streamed hosts that will stay up all night with you, helping keep the energy going with some killer K-pop (maybe) tracks and interesting content to help keep you mentally stimulated
  • We'll have competitions throughout to give you a break from hacking.
  • And of course, we'll have workshops and tech talks live streamed to help with education.
  • Sponsors will be virtual, with office hours and mock interviews available virtually.
Learn before the event!

We will be live streaming interactive workshops, talks, and experiences, live streamed and recorded throughout the week before the event from April 20th - 24th. All live streams will be posted and available for viewing on the live site.

Judging

Judging will be conducted over the week following project submissions. A panel of judges will review your submissions (make sure to submit your video and a great description with your code!) and the winners will be announced on a live streamed show on Saturday, May 2nd.

Mentorship

Mentors will be virtually available through Discord and our own Q&A site, where you can leave questions for your peers or our mentors. The most helpful mentors get prizes!

Eligibility

Anyone is free to attend. You can register for project submission through Devpost at the top of the page. Please register with Asterisk directly in order to also be eligible to receive swag!

You're not allowed to start working on your project until the event begins on April 24th. 

You must be 13 or older to register on this site without parental permission. 

Teams can be up to five(5) people.

Requirements

We're looking for the best projects that help the world - you can build anything you want, but we encourage your work to have some emphasis on the environment, social good, or just creating a better future for everyone on the planet!

You're not allowed to start working on your project until the event begins on April 24th. 

Your submission must have a title, fill out the required description(s), image, and all team members associated to the project in order to be eligible.

Teams can be up to five(5) people.

How can we empower young people to have a positive impact on their community and the natural world through technology?

COVID-19 has affected the way people are able to connect with each other. State Farm is one of the many companies who cherishes the relationship between our employees and our customers.

During this time how might State Farm:

1) better serve our customers during times of extreme isolation and quarantine?
